Best Of by 50 Cent (2017). Greatest Hits by A Teens (2005). Most Requested Hits by Aaron Carter (2003). Come Get It: The Very Best of Aaron Carter by Aaron Carter (2006).

A greatest hits album, sometimes called a "best of" album or a catalog album, is a compilation of songs by a particular artist or band. Most often the track list contains previously released recordings with a high degree of notability. However, to increase the appeal, especially to people who already own the original release, it is common to include remixes or alternate takes of popular songs; sometimes even new material (previously unreleased) will function as bonus tracks.

Greatest Hits (Guns N' Roses album). Greatest Hits is a compilation album by the American hard rock band Guns N' Roses, released on March 23, 2004. Released by Geffen Records in part because of the delay in the making of Chinese Democracy, the album was subject to lawsuits by band member Axl Rose and former band members, in an attempt to block its release due to its track listing.

Other minor hits such as "Breathe Your Name" are also included. Much like UB40, the band made a habit of finding success by covering other groups, and there's a plethora of such tracks included here as well. Their covers of ABBA's "Dancing Queen," Crowded House's "Don't Dream It's Over," their butchering of Brian Wilson's genius "I Just Wasn't Made for These Times," and the Sam Phillips-penned "I Need Love" are featured during the middle third of the record.

There exist greatest hits compilations that become as important to a career as the best studio album. Greatest Hits was released in 1967, four years after her death, and it focuses more on her country-pop crooners but it’s a solid album. Beginning with her first big hit Walkin’ After Midnight, these are timeless classics, most of which charted on both country and pop charts, and are still heard today in films and radio. On songs like Crazy, and I Fall to Pieces, Cline’s smooth, emotion-filled vocal delivery imbued every song with such feeling they’re identifiable to anyone who’s ever lost in love.
