The Steve Miller Band was one of the best '70s rock bands. Formed in 1966 in San Francisco, California, the Steve Miller Band originated as a blues band, but by the mid to late '70s, they released The Joker (1973) which set them on a course for traditional American rock and roll. Fly Like an Eagle (1976) and Book of Dreams (1977) soon followed, which insured that the Steve Miller Band would secure a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
