Chris’s first album for Touch. The tracks are the atmospheres of special places, recorded with the use of camouflaged microphones. CD – 12 Tracks – 59:43 PDF Booklet + text file inc. liner notes and images. Today, Fai – a local fisherman, took us into the huge mangrove forests at Los Olovitos by canoe. It was hot, humid and very quiet. I cabled some mics out into the water’s edge with the idea of returning before dawn the following day. Curiosity forced my return that night when I heard and recorded these mechanical sounds of fishing bats in the darkness.

John Christian Watson (born John Christian Tanck; 9 April 1867 – 18 November 1941), commonly known as Chris Watson, was an Australian politician who served as the third Prime Minister of Australia. He was the first prime minister from the Australian Labour Party, and the first prime minister from the labour movement in the world. He has released four solo albums of field recordings: Outside the Circle of Fire, Stepping into the Dark (which won an Award of Distinction at the 2000 Prix Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria), Weather Report, and El Tren Fantasma. He has also released a variety of works in collaboration with other artists, including Star Switch On, a collaboration with Mika Vainio of Pan Sonic, Philip Jeck, Hazard, Fennesz, AER (Jon Wozencroft, aka "Alpha Echo Romeo"), and Biosphere.

Christopher Richard "Chris" Watson is a Sheffield-born British musician and sound recordist specialising in natural history. A former & founding member of Cabaret Voltaire and The Hafler Trio, Watson has worked on numerous TV and radio documentaries for BBC, as well as other projects. In addition, he has also released a number of solo and collaborative records, generally on the Touch label, which are derived from his location recordings.
