The Pointer Sisters is the self-titled debut by the Pointer Sisters, released in 1973 on the Blue Thumb label. The album peaked at number 13 on the Billboard 200 and reached number three on the R&B albums chart and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in February 1974
Lyrics for Could I Be Dreamin' by The Pointer Sisters. Anita Pointer/Trevor Lawrence/Mario Henderson) Through the night while I was fast asleep. Could I be dreamin'? I'v waited for this moment oh so long and now you're mine No, it's not a dream Boy, you know I like your company And I'm glad you said to me "Baby, Can I come inside?" Aren't you glad I opened up my door Because we both knew the score And the time was right No, I'm not dreamin' You're really, really with me and I love the way it feels No, I'm not dreamin' I've waited for this moment oh so long and now it's real No, it's not a dream

The Pointer Sisters’ first album was released in 1975 and soon won their first Grammy Award for the country-Western tune Fairytale, leading them to become the first black female group to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. Elvis Presley himself would also record the song for his last studio album. Then in 1986, the R&B star teamed up with country singer Earl Thomas Conley for Too Many Times, a track that reached No. 2 on the charts. But Pointer insisted her love of country music wasn’t always met with open arms. She opened one of her shows with my song, "Could I Be Dreaming. When I saw her singing my song, the words that I wrote, I just started to cry. She just loved my music and that meant so much to me.
