At the forefront of the British nu-disco scene, Brighton collective Soft Rocks throw something of a curve ball for their debut album proper, The Curse of Soft Rocks, by embracing the worlds of dub and ambient new age to provide one of the most intriguing downtempo efforts of the year.

For the most part, it is - though perhaps not in quite the ways you'd imagine. While you could certainly describe it as Balearic - see the dreamy, Kate Bush-ish pop of "Thunder Thunder", the Afro-tinged slo-mo prog-disco weirdery of "Slowdown" and the Spanish vocals and bubbling grooves of "Mirador De las Estrellas".

Distancing themselves from the monotony of today’s musical palette, Soft Rocks, out of Brighton UK, have pieced together a musical soundscape on their new album The Curse Of Soft Rocks. Melded together with the expertise of musicians who understand mixing The Curse Of Soft Rocks creates something of an experimental musical journey.

For the most part, it is though perhaps not in quite the ways you d imagine. While you could certainly describe it as Balearic see the dreamy, Kate Bush ish pop of Thunder Thunder, the Afro tinged slo mo prog disco weirdery of Slowdown and the Spanish vocals and bubbling grooves of Mirador De las Estrellas that wouldn t really do it justice. Hidden amongst the album's 11 exquisite cuts are trips into weirdo cock-rock territory, twisted dub-punk and folksy, string-drenched hypnotism. A fittingly impressive debut. Get new release alerts.

Their debut album, The Curse of Soft Rocks is without-a-doubt a departure from the current musical climate. In an age where any laptop-savvy poseur can upload their bland nu-disco or faux-Chi-house directly to a cesspool of digitally downloadable fodder, i is more than refreshing to hear this cheeky bunch blending a mixed bag of instrumentation and obscure influences so recklessly. Look out for the debut single We Hunt Buffalo Now dropping on October 1oth, complete with a remix from Andrew Weatherall. The Curse Of Soft Rocks. Soft Rocks, Kathy Diamond. Release Date 2011-11-28

Artist: Soft Rocks Title Of Album: The Revenge Of Soft Rocks Year Of Release: 2012 Label: ESP Institute ESP008 Genre: Electronic, Leftfield, Dub, Disco, Soft Rock, Downtempo Total Time: 1:. For some reason, Soft Rocks' brilliant debut album, 2011's The Curse of Soft Rocks, flew under the radar. It's a pity, because it's one of the best full-lengths to emerge from the cosmic/Balearic scene to date. Here, that album gets remixed, with an impressive cast of like-minded producers re-imagining the Brighton crew's immaculate efforts.

Soft Rocks ready first artist album. Soft Rocks make a Disco Powerplay. Vibrations launches with Mark E. The London and Brighton-based house imprint will release its first 12-inch next month.

56 Ambient Soul Cleaners. First of all, binaural beats is a scientifically proven technology that was discovered in 1839 by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove while he was a professor at the University of Berlin. He found that a "perception" of beats could be heard when slightly different frequencies were played to each ear. Brainwave entrainment occurs when binaural beat encoded audio is listened to through headphones (so that the audio frequencies go to the appropriate ear). It takes about 5 minutes of exposure to the binaural beats for the human brain to begin following the frequency of the beats.

It's an absolute crime that this album never got pressed to vinyl. Outstanding album with some extremely well-done remixes to accompany it.
