I Need You is the third compilation album from American recording artist LeAnn Rimes. The album was first released on January 30, 2001, through Curb Records to help satisfy Rimes' recording contract obligations during litigation with the label and her management. Rimes publicly disowned the album just days after its release, causing it to be discontinued. The album was then officially released by Rimes on March 26, 2002, with four additional tracks and a new recording: "Light the Fire Within".

I would be inclined to describe it as "ubiquitous", rather than "classic".........the piano riff has been sampled lots of times on later records. 1994's "Something About U" by Mr Roy (FRSHT11) is another one that springs to mind, but I'm sure there are many more.

In my opinion the Joey Negros Frisky Disco Mix is the best version of I Need You, Such a lovely ballad of a track with lovely vocals and a delightful piano riff in background. One that always stands out from my teenage years, and the part where Nikita Warren says "ooh ahh ash kashay" really does it for me. Excellent well put together and produced Record.5/5. Dont get me wron all the mixes are good but i think the Joey Negro Frisky Disco is the best.

Back in the mid 90's i was a young boy going to college in a local town near to Brighton. It was here i met a group of people who were into good house beats. They owned a number of bootleg mix tapes mixed by a local lad called Gordon Kaye. On one of these tapes lived a song... a song that touched my heart, a song that if it was a woman i would have married her. The saddest thing however, was i didn't know the name, record label or artist that made this song. The search to find this track continued and nearly 16 years later i struck gold! I heard a similar version that had been remixed and pushed out onto a well known house comp disc set. It was a clue!! After some furious digging I managed to muster up a name and artist, I came to Discogs and nervously checked every mix until i found it.... yes there it was NIKITA WARREN, "I NEED YOU" (FLUTE MIX) Please, take you time and sit back and listen to this song. Everyone who has heard this falls in love. enjoy!!

Have you ever head those beautiful piano lines on the drop out on 'Metropolis - Hyporeel' by the guys from The Future Sound Of London? I'm sure that those who like the music from Brian Doungans & Gary Cobain will remember this very deep, remarquable piano melodies. Well, thanks to our friend Chico (the Steel Life brother) that discovered it, we could find out that the original House tune that had these piano lines was 'Nikita Warren - I Need You' from 1991, produced by Bisiach, Christian Hornbostel and Mauro Ferrucci (released one year before the Metropolis - Hyporeel tune. I strongly recommend "I Need You", whose amazing, mellow pianos will stay in your mind - a kind of a trademark for Italian producers since the late eighties (we don't need to go so far to remember of Soft House Company and FPI Project).
