Liza!, back in 1964, and on Minnelli’s 1970 album New Feelin’, but turned into a traditional pop standard after its 1972 inclusion on Cabaret. Though originally written in 1964 for a different purpose, the song was put into the 1972 version of the 1966 Cabaret musical.

Listen to Cabaret Girl from Ian Whitcomb's Lotusland: A Musical Comedy for free, and see the artwork, lyrics and similar artists. He never had a hit in the . and wasn't all that wild about rock & roll in the first place, preferring traditional forms of blues, ragtime, and Tin Pan Alley. But "You Turn Me On" – a tongue-in-cheek three-chord knockoff at the end of a session with exaggerated falsetto vocals and an unforgettable orgasmic vocal hook – hit number eight in America in 1965, and Whitcomb was briefly a star. An odd footnote to the British Invasion, English singer and pianist Ian Whitcomb formed his R&B group Bluesville in Dublin, Ireland
"Maybe This Time" was a Kander-Ebb song Minnelli had been singing since 1964. The film was even more successful than the show, and the soundtrack album went gold, outselling the original Broadway cast album. But it contains some definitive Minnelli performances, particularly her rendition of the title song
