Hailing from Cheshire, Submerse is an esteemed producer/DJ with a distinct and recognisable sound that . Submerse was featured by Pioneer Japan and was also named 'Band Of The Week' In The Guardian newspaper (2012).

Label: Project: Mooncircle ‎– PMC104.

Tears is thus introduced as the reaction to the loneliness and confusion of the move, and from there to any small reminder of home. The opening track, Cream Soda, we’re told, was entirely inspired by the sight of a familiar can of soft drink; the overarching idea being that with little to relate to it’s the smallest things that can trigger the greatest emotion. As such, Tears is a remarkably mellow and contemplative release: one about small, internal triumphs and occurrences as opposed to any grand theme. Relatable, then, if not inspiring.

Following a highly regarded release for the relaunched R&S sublabel Apollo, Submerse returns with this superb EP for Project Mooncircle, which sees a refinement on the bass-infused digital hip-hop styles of that record. Tracks like "Cream Soda" and "Kerosene" recall the squashed beats of Lukid, while the fizzy atmospherics and sweet vocal samples of "It's Over, I Lost" and "Tears" have more than a bit of early James Blake about them.

Submerse - Tears EP At seven tracks long Submerse's latest release, Tears, is more mini-album than single, and one not short of styles-old and new-from the genre-skirting producer. While early releases on Whistla's L2S Recordings may have put the now Tokyo-based Rob Orme in the future garage camp, his productions have since coursed back and forth through the many tomes of UK dance music, including bassline, 2-step and drum & bass.
