In this great recording of Paganini's Violin Concerto No. 1, Sarah Chang has achieved another milestone in her long string of recording masterpieces. Her command of the rhythmics, harmonics, and melody is supreme. Her speed and precision are miraculous. Great sound from the Philadelphia Orchestra here, with Sarah Chang, aged around 13 at the time, just a bit more forward in the aural picture - and that's my main reservation. It's just a bit too close-up. But alas, the album cover brazenly stated 'Paganini Violin Concerto'. I don't normally throw away 78's. but I could not in conscience pay anyone to take them, much less sell them. Does not apply to the sarah chang recording, IT is a jewel!!!
