Asking for It" is a song by the American alternative rock band Hole. It is the fourth track on the band's second studio album, Live Through This, released on April 12, 1994 on Geffen Records. The song was written by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Courtney Love and lead guitarist Eric Erlandson.

Doll Parts" is a song by American alternative rock band Hole, written by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Courtney Love. The song was released as the band's sixth single and second from their second studio album, Live Through This, in November 1994 to accompany the band's North American tour. It was also the first single to be released following the death of bassist Kristen Pfaff in June 1994.

Courtney Love completely revamped Hole before recording their second album, keeping only Eric Erlandson in the lineup. That is one of the reasons why Live Through This sounds so shockingly different from Pretty on the Inside, but the real reason is Love's desire to compete in the same commercial alternative rock arena as her husband, Kurt Cobain

Live Through This is the second studio album by American alternative rock band Hole. It was released by DGC Records on April 12, 1994, one week after frontwoman Courtney Love's husband, Kurt Cobain, died by suicide in their home. It is the only Hole album to feature bassist Kristen Pfaff before her death in June 1994. Recorded in October 1993, Live Through This marked a divergence from the band's unpolished hardcore aesthetics to more refined melodies and structure

King, ‘Live in Cook County Jail’. King was enjoying a career renaissance when he played this Chicago jail in 1970. The third album by Jack and Meg White was the right dynamite for a mainstream breakthrough. Jack’s Delta-roadhouse fantasies, Detroit-garage-rock razzle and busted-love lyricism, as well as Meg’s toy-thunder drumming all peaked at once. By their fifth album, Kiss were the most popular band in America, with sold-out stadium tours and eventually their own pinball machine, makeup line and a TV movie. Built around the proto power ballad Beth, this is a ridiculously over-the-top party-rock album that just gets better with age. Listen here.

Had this album for a while now almost 2 years every time I play this record I say man this sounds amazing. I do have the CD from the 90's somewhere would make a great comparison but I put my money on this reissue.

Excellent sounding pressing. Nice depth and detail without surface noise. Recommended!

No lyric sheet. A little disappointed but none the less happy to have it. My Daughter Lorna is 3 and she loves this album.

Which vinyl releases did come with the lyrics sheet insert?

My copy sounds incredible with no issues whatsoever. The sleeve is beautiful and the pressing sounds crisp and clear, almost like the CD. I'm very impressed.

I just picked this up a few days ago.system:Marantz PM 5004 ReceiverU-Turn Orbit TurntablePolk TSX330t floor standing speakersI think this release sounds really good, and pretty much identical to my original CD release, maybe even better. I hear none of this "sheet over speakers" muffling everyone speaks of.The packaging is simple as I prefer. Just a standard non-gatefold outer sleeve, with a lined inner sleeve. The inner sleeve is plain, but is lined so the record goes in easy without paper residue on record. Which is what I prefer. For the price this release is definitely worth it. It's like $25.00. GOT FOR IT!

I just own the 1994 canadian cd and this reissue, so I just can compare both and both sound almost similar, a little better on the reissue with better highs and bass, but nothing spectacular. So, I would like to hear the original vinyl pressing. On the other hand, I don´t know how reliable this website is http://dr.loudness-war.info/ but according to the database the reissue has more DR than the original vinyl pressing:Original City Slang pressing http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/50883Min. track DR: 10 Max. track DR 11Reissue DGC-UMG pressing http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/113311Min. track DR: 11Max. track DR 12Even if the equipment used was not the same, this would affect the DR?

So glad to finally own this on a vinyl record. One of the best albums ever created.

Did anyone else noticed that on the disc labels "I think that I would die" is misspelled as "I think I would die"? Also the background is not white but sort of darker almost brownish? The original version had white background...weird.The sound quality isn't bad but definitely a little more compressed and quieter than the original City Slang pressing .

Just got a copy of this today and played through it. I have to agree with a previous review that this does not sound good at all. It's muffled, distant, and blurry as if someone threw a sheet over my speakers. There's no seperation between the instruments and suffers from lack of distinct highs, mid, and low end...no dynamics as if it was sourced from a brick walled CD.

someone said that this mix "sounds soficated and dull".well, i couldn't disagree more. this is a fantastic pressing. silent, airy, absolutely not ear fatiguing. though i wonder what kind of master were used, i'm very pleased with this reissue. if you can't afford the original pressing, skip the 2014 bootleg and buy this one, you won't be disappointed!

When being compared to the original vinyl City Slang release from 1994, and I compared both, this 2016 reissue sounds restrained, just listen to the vocals and the symbol crashes, they are all stuffed in together with no room to breathe...This reissue is not a remaster, or is it even being boasted as one, however, the album has been newly cut, and technically that means it has been newly mastered for vinyl-I too am curious what the source is for this release. I should remention that this new pressing of the record is fine and a quality one, but it was not cut from the same City Slang stampers as the original. Indeed the record is cut at a lower volume than the original Slang release as well...

Great lp and a nice clean pressing. CRANK IT UP!!

The original 1994 release sounds phenomenal, the 2014 unofficial sounds really close to the original...this reissue sounds just ok, it's nothing special in my opinion

Wait... is it made in Holland or the Netherlands? :D

Although I'm thrilled that this album has finally seen it's first official "reissue" ever, I do not agree with the accolades it has received as a great sounding record. The mix sounds soficated and dull, if not distant, it’s not nearly as open and detailed as the original City Slang releases from 94’, the pressing quality however is fine. Don't give up your original copies kids!

really good pressing and sound quality! a solid back to black reissue. mastered by bob ludwig, no warping, no noise etc. comes in polylined innersleeve. highly recommended!
Morlurne Morlurne
I agree. A fantastic sounding record now affordable to the masses!
Kelenn Kelenn
Same here, great mastering job and pressing. This album never sounded this good :-)
Lemana Lemana
Agree with this 100%! But the greedy part of me wants colored sleeves WITH a polylined inner sleeve. But thats being picky. The album sounds great.
