Evita charts the young and ambitious Eva Peron’s meteoric rise to sainthood. Set in Argentina between 1934-1952, the Tony-winning musical follows Eva Duarte on her journey from poor illegitimate child to ambitious actress to, as wife of military ent Juan Peron, the most powerful woman in Latin America, before her death from cancer at age 33. Evita’s memorable Don’t Cry For Me Argentina was recorded and released in 1976 followed by the complete rock opera concept album, which went gold

Andrew Lloyd Webber is the quintessential musical theater figure, and many of the productions he has written and produced-including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cats and Evita-have gone on to be long-running smashes. They were soon commissioned to write a religious concert, and over the next two months, the pair crafted a 20-minute pop-cantata version of what would one day become Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, a retelling of the biblical story of Joseph. A double-disc compilation album was scheduled to follow, featuring many of his familiar hits as well as covers by such artists as Lana Del Rey, Nicole Scherzinger and Gregory Porter. We strive for accuracy and fairness.
