I would recommend Christoph Von Dohnanyi and the Cleveland Orchestra over Solti's 'Balzing Brass', although Chicago's Brass is amazing to me and I might recommend it, I would recommend this recording first. 3 people found this helpful. Dohnanyi just doesn't seem as committed here, so, unlike his fantastic recording of Dvorak's 7th and 8th symphonies, this New World seems a bit wan and underplayed. The first movement is perfect, and the Cleveland, of course, is mostly magnificent. But the Largo and Scherzo are just kind of blah.
