Rock & Roll Is Dead~ The Hellacopters is a straight forward rock album that could have been seen as boring and uinspired, but it is not. It is quite refreshing to hear just plain rock music without pretentious lyrics or the band trying to make a social or political statement like U2 and REM. The cover is also a standard rock cover. The book-let is a bit sparse with no lyrics which is a downer. But the photos are great and looks allot like old book-lets from the 1970's. This is an album that I highly reccomend

The rock and roll dream hasn't exactly met expectations for Sweden's Hellacopters, although that doesn't stop them from proclaiming rock defunct in the title of their 10th album. Now the Darkness-led cadre of retro-revivers receive the accolades for their supposed trailblazing, though in all fairness, Hellacopters lack more than just opportunistic timing in their Sisyphusian task to co-opt arena rock to stardom
