Arcade Fire is a Canadian indie rock band, consisting of husband and wife Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, along with Win's younger brother William Butler, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury and Jeremy Gara. The band's current touring line-up also includes former core member Sarah Neufeld, percussionist Tiwill Duprate and saxophonist Stuart Bogie.

Redirected from Funeral (Arcade Fire album)). Funeral is the debut studio album by Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire, released on September 14, 2004 by Merge Records. It was given its title because several band members had recently lost members of their families; Régine Chassagne's grandmother died in June 2003, Win and William Butler's grandfather (swing musician Alvino Rey) in February 2004, and Richard Reed Parry's aunt in April 2004

Also known as Us Kids Know, this EP was recorded and released sometime between 2002-2003, and re-released in 2005. The band consists of Win Butler (vocals, guitar, piano), Régine Chassagne (vocals, accordion, keyboards, hurdy gurdy, drums), Richard Reed Parry (bass, guitar), Will Butler (keyboards, guitar), Tim Kingsbury (bass), and Jeremy Gara (drums).

Everything Now" contains elements from "The Coffee Cola Song" written by Francis Bebey. If somebody had told me that Arcade Fire were releasing an album of mainly electro pop funky disco with a slight bit of reggae I would have been intrigued but probably would have decided to give it a miss. They actually do it rather well and although it's Everything now isn't a five star album, it's still pretty good and it shows Arcade Fire are capable of doing a lot of different styles extremely well. I can't fault this pressing either.

As this new band, they were reborn on the dance floor. Who Arcade Fire became on their new album Everything Now-a tangled, joyless record of Banksy disco and bloodless new wave that examines fear, love, and suicide in our modern media landscape-is anyone’s guess.

Ive got mines hanging on my wall. The first record to get featured for me :> Its really nice. Sadly I put the record down on my table and my cat came over and scratched the front and now theres a bit of the cover ripped off... I wish my cat just got to the white bits..

It's a reach back into the archives from the good old days or Arcade Fire, when the sound was a spectacular folk tale collision not the weird Abba-esque cul-de-sac they seem to be stuck in now. Not a high fidelity listen, but its pleasant enough delivery, considering when and what it was recorded on. The musical ideas are boisterous, the lyrics whimsical - a blue print for what was to bloom in Neighbourhood.My pressing has continuous low level noise in the right channel, both sides, but it's only noticeable in the gaps and doesnt effect the enjoyment.

if there is no antistatic sleeve , maybe the problem is just static electricity, so you could try an antistatic brush. Do you have pops sometimes?

I know the official line is that this is a "transparent blue" vinyl pressing, but I'd say (judging by my copy) it's more translucent than transparent.

10,000 were produced worldwide, 3,000 of which were released in the US. Per RSD’s twitter post:“RSD listing on the US site is US numbers. All copies (for all territories) would be produced together, and then split out. 3000 in the US does not mean the numbers would be 1 - 3000. (even if it was just US release, more numbers would be on jackets because of overruns/errors)”Also, someone on twitter said they were the product manager for this and they confirmed the 10k number. You can let RSD know your feelings on it by commenting on the twitter thread.

i often read the word warp describing vinyl sound. I am not english so i don't really understand what it means? Could someone explain to me what is a warp sound ( some distortion? some pops ? ) Thank you.

It's listed for $16.95 USD at the local participating RSD stores in NYC. They all seem to be sold out here but I'm reading here that some people have copies numbered at nearly 10,000 (and not 3,000 as it was advertised). If that's the case then the price will likely drop back down to something reasonable once the buzz is over. Or maybe the band will press a black vinyl version in the near future.

I don't care the number, 300 / 3000 / 30 000 or 300 000 i want this release but when you say 3000ex world and you number it with numer higher than 15000 there's a big issue.We are disc lovers / buyers / diggers and the majors conrinu to scam us ..After that they will say : ah people don't like and don't trut us, we don't understand .... It's a good release BTW ^^

Mine is 05421 in a 5 digit number, clearly it looks like there is more than 3,000. Even though this one is numbered, which is always a plus, they did the same "limited edition" thing with the Creature Comfort, Put Your Money On Me and Everything Now singles as well as many versions of the album. That aside, the record itself is a beautiful dark teal color that doesn't seem to translate the same in the pictures that have surfaced so far (pics look more standard blue). The sound is crisp and clear, showcasing that early Arcade Fire organic sound. Regardless of how many pressings there were, this is definitely a cornerstone essential for any Arcade Fire collection!

Are you saying that it's common practice to print more copies than actually specified? Everywhere I've checked states that this pressing would be limited to 3000 copies. If they did print more, it's pretty scummy. That is, they're giving more than 3000 people the impression that they own something that isn't as rare as they think.

Beautiful cardboard gatefold with a small lyric pamphlet. Record colour is like a deep blue with a hint of green, looks awesome. Sound is fantastic, very quiet pressing with no pops or clicks.
