The Purple Demo (released 1988) is the second studio demo by Avant Garde. This demo was printed on Black shelled cassettes with purple label stickers on one side. It featured the Avant Garde logo. Their occasional competency promises more- with Harlem's current diminishing returns, fans will take talent where they can find it- then never deviates from its drearily solid course. AVANT GARDE is a progressive metal music artist. Before fronting the incredibly successful alternative rock band Weezer, vocalist and guitarist Rivers Cuomo co-founded a band known as Avant Garde back in 1985. Formed by Cuomo and his friend Justin Fisher, Avant Garde essentially began as the result of Cuomo yearning for a heavier and more technical band than his and Fisher's first project, Fury.
