The Love Cats" (sometimes rendered as "The Lovecats") is a song by English rock band The Cure, released as a stand-alone single in October 1983. It was the band's first Top 10 hit in the UK, peaking at number 7. It also reached number 6 on the Australian chart in early 1984. The single later appeared on the compilation album Japanese Whispers, released in December 1983.

In 2003, after hearing Tricky’s cover of the song, Smith told Humo magazine: Tricky has slowed down the skipping happy rhythm to a kind of death march but that doesn’t surprise me. Maybe he’s listened to the lyrics: in fact this song is not about cats but about a suicide pact between two lovers. Hence the text ‘into the sea, you and m. My idea of a love song

Cure, The. Chris Brown. The Lovecats (оригинал The Cure). Влюбленные кошки (перевод Amethyst). We move like cagey tigers. Мы двигаемся как осторожные тигры, Oh, we couldn't get closer than this. О, мы не смогли бы приблизиться ближе, чем есть.

The Love Cats - the cure. Has been played on. Germany 1017. I called Expo Hall to pick out dates in two to three weeks' time, because it sounds like we may do this again. We want to get a handle on how successful it was and what changes need to be made to the process. Now playing: Adele Rolling in the Deep. Depeche Mode Enjoy the Silence.

The Cure - The Lovecats. Album: Japanese Whispers (1983). Translations: Chinese, German, Greek, Hungarian, Spanish. Oh, we couldn't get closer than this. The way we walk, the way we talk. The way we stalk, the way we kiss. We slip through the streets while everyone sleeps. Gettin' bigger and sleeker and wider and brighter. We bite and scratch and scream all night. Let's go and throw all the songs we know. Into the sea, you and me. All the years and no one heard  . We missed you, we missed you". I love you, let's go. Oh, solid gone. How could we miss someone as dumb as this?
