I usually loathe the overused phrase "return to form", but if any album deserves it then it must be Edit, Mark Stewart's best album in years. When everybody is looking back musically instead of forwards, it makes sense that the old skool of the On U Sound gang sounds fresher than all the "MySpace-flavour-of-the-week" newcomers. The album stands almost alone as the antidote to an otherwise abysmally bland music year. Stand out tracks are the fidget house of 'Freak Circus", and the female vocals of "Secret Suburbia" and "Mr You're A Better Man Than I".
