Let's Be Still is the second studio album by American band The Head and the Heart, following the 2011 release of their self-entitled first album. It was officially released on October 15, 2013. Two months prior to this release, track six on the album, "Shake" was released as a single in late July 2013. The band also gave a performance of the second track, "Another Story" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on August 6, 2013. The band has scheduled a Fall of 2013 tour following the release of Let's Be Still.

Indeed, The Head and the Heart’s new release, Let’s Be Still, is a snapshot of a band that didn’t exist just four short years ago. Virginia native Russell and California transplant Johnson formed the core songwriting partnership, which was rounded out by drummer Tyler Williams, keyboardist Kenny Hensley, vocalist/violinist Charity Rose Thielen and bassist Chris Zasche, who’d met Russell and Johnson while tending bar at an open mic they frequented. It was like, ‘Right! This is what we d. Let’s Be Still was recorded at Seattle’s Studio Litho with assistance from prior production collaborator Shawn Simmons. Later, the band traversed the country to mix the album in Bridgeport, Conn. with Peter Katis, revered for his work with bands such as the National, Interpol and the Swell Season.

This is the first time that we produced as a full band. This one is everyone’s influences equally present and prevalent throughout the album. Later, the band traversed the country to mix the album in Bridgeport, CT, with Peter Katis, revered for his work with bands such as the National, Interpol, and the Swell Season. All in all, a good album in its own right. Let’s Be Still benefits tremendously from this expanded and diversified approach, as the Seattle sextet experiments with groovy electric guitar riffs, coruscating synths, and deft time signature shifts that keep the listener off balance in all the right ways. Throughout the album, The Head and the Heart stress that, although nothing is permanent and life in 21st century America is a hectic blur, we can prolong what’s worth cherishing by taking our foot off the accelerator, if only for a moment
Gone appears on The Head and the Heart’s album, Let’s Be Still. The song is about band member Jon’s relationship with a girl he met form Seattle one summer.
