South Shore Commission was an R&B/funk band that briefly topped the Billboard magazine dance chart in 1975. The band formed out of The X-Citers Band in Members initially included Warren Harding Hagood II (drums), Sidney Lanier Pinchback II (guitar), David Thomas Henderson (bass guitar), David Abner Scott (vocals), Armed Allen McIntosh (trumpet and saxophone), Joe Hudson (saxophone), Melvin Moore (trumpet), and Kenny Anderson (trumpet).

South Shore Commission (members Frank McCurrey, Sheryl Henry, Sidney "Pinchback" Lennear, Eugene Rogers, David Henderson and Warren Haygood) this group was actually formed in 1960 in Washington, DC, as The Exciters. In 1965 they became a back-up band for The Five Du-Tones and were signed to the One-Derful label in Chicago.
