"Give Me That") "Old-Time Religion" (and similar spellings) is a traditional Gospel song dating from 1873, when it was included in a list of Jubilee songs-or earlier. It has become a standard in many Protestant hymnals, though it says nothing about Jesus or the gospel, and covered by many artists.

Album Rebel Transmission. Old Time Religion Lyrics. I've got a watch on, I know what time it is And I'm not the only one Come on, try to say you haven't seen the signs Come now, try to tell us that it's in our minds Some folks will hear it, some eyes will see Good thing it ain't all up to me. How can you call it old time religion When it's right here and right now?

We are going down, Jordan We are going down, Jordan We are going down, Jordan Let's walk the heavenly road I was livin' me life as an Anglican Let me tell you how I changed to a Baptist man I was livin' me life as an Anglican Let me tell you how I changed to a Baptist man One night I wa. html They dunked me in.

Rhiannon Giddens’ Old-Time Religion. Carolina Chocolate Drops singer gives roots music a shot in the arm on solo debut. Rhiannon Giddens' solo debut includes a song for "women who came before," Giddens says. I'm standing on their shoulders. On the last day of work for Lost on the River, the 2014 album based on newly unearthed Bob Dylan lyrics, Rhiannon Giddens sang her own ballad Angel City for the rest of the cast, including Elvis Costello and My Morning Jacket’s Jim James. Giddens had written the tune as raw gratitude - the sessions were her first collaboration with that sort of rock-star company. This was my gift, she says, telling them, ’You.

We are going down, Jordan. Let's walk the heavenly road. Well, the leader walked up and he shook my hand. Said "I want you to be a holy man". Right away I made a big decision. Me stomach was a growling for this new religion. I started over to get some food. When some sisters approached me in a mystic mood. They dunked me in the water 'bout four, five times. I couldn't see a thing 'cause I was almost blind. Singing I've got a sword in my hand. I'm going to use it well. I was drenched to me skin and I was feeling cold

An old man with steel rimmed spectacles and very dusty clothes sat by the side of the road. But the old man sat there without moving. He was too tired to go any farther. It was my business to cross the bridge, explore the bridgehead beyond and find out to what point the enemy had advanced. I did this and returned over the bridge. There were not so many carts now and very few people on foot, but the old man was still there. I asked, watching the far end of the bridge where a few last carts were hurrying down the slope of the bank. No, he said, only the animals I stated. The cat, of course, will be all right.

Joseph Thompson claimed famous Scottish ancestry, including a title, never legally established, deriving from the fifth earl of Winton, Lord Seton. Ernest legally adopted the surname Seton in 1901. When the family shipping business failed in 1866, Joseph Thompson emigrated with his family to a Canadian farm but, within four years, sold out to a neighbor, William Blackwell. The Thompsons then moved to Toronto, but Ernest's experience with country life had already convinced him to become a naturalist. A bestseller in its time, it has been continuously in print since its original publication. With this book, Seton invented a tradition of animal stories, which later attracted such writers as Jack London and earned him the friendship of President Theodore Roosevelt.
