Andy Narell (born March 18, 1954) is a jazz steel drummer. Narell took up the steelpan at a young age in Queens, New York. His father, who was a social worker, had started a program of steelpan playing for at-risk youth at the Jewish philanthropic Education Alliance in Lower East Side Manhattan using two sets of pans made by Rupert Sterling, a native of Antigua.

Slow Motion is a world fusion music album recording by ANDY NARELL released in 1985 on CD, LP/Vinyl and/or cassette. Recorded at Fantasy Studios, Berkeley and Nash Studio, Oakland, January-March, 1985. Thanks to snobb for the updates. Slow Motion Windham Hill Records 1989.

Andy Narell has successfully utilized them in a variety of non-traditional ways. On the ambitious and highly eclectic fusion release Slow Motion, elements of everything from Afro-Cuban salsa to Brazilian samba to African music are fair game for the adventurous, even visionary improviser (who is also heard on electric keyboards). Sometimes cerebral and sometimes romantic - sometimes intense and sometimes reflective - Slow Motion is one CD that cannot be accused of predictability. For those exploring Narell's music for the first time, this album would be an excellent starting point.
