Borrowed Time is the second studio album by Diamond Head. The album was recorded in 1981 and released in 1982, reaching Number 24 on the UK album chart. In a 2008 interview, guitarist Brian Tatler announced that this was his favourite period with Diamond Head and that the band "seemed to be getting somewhere after six years of building". This was the band's first major label released after being signed to MCA Records in 1981.

Canterbury (1983) by Diamond Head. Genres: Heavy Metal, NWOBHM Members: Sean Harris, Brian Tatler, Colin Kimberley, Merv Goldsworthy, Duncan Scott, Robbie France.

Diamond Head Canterbury. The first 20,000 copies of "Canterbury" to be printed suffered from vinyl-pressing problems, causing the LP to jump. A remastered version was released in October 2007 featuring three bonus tracks: 10. Makin' Music (extended) 11. Sucking My Love (live) 12. Andy Peebles Interview incl. To The Devil His Due". Recording information: Produced by Mike Shipley and Diamond Head.

We canonized Diamond Head’s first album, Lightning to the Nations in the Decibel Hall of Fame in December 2007, but, in fact, this was never meant by the band to be an official album. That it ended up considered as such, four of its songs covered by Metallica, happened many years after the fact. At the time, it was just a demo to get them a major label deal  . Canterbury was eventually released on September 9, 1983 and did worse than Borrowed Time sales-wise. Perhaps the band had second-guessed what their fans wanted. Perhaps they didn’t care and were aiming higher.

2007 sees Diamond Head complete a new studio album with engineer Dave 'Shirt' Nicholls. One of their strongest pieces of work to date, the album is due to be released later this year. In the meantime, the band have just embarked on an exciting European Tour that sees them taking the new material throughout the UK, Ireland, Belgium, Holland, Germany & Italy! 2016.

"The Kingmaker" / "To the Devil His Due" / "Knight of the Swords" / "Ishmael" / "Canterbury" are brilliant. Would have made an amazing EP. As a last hurrah to their initial and only important phase, it's a spotty album, but the good stuff is excellent.
