Description

Savage (Songs from a Broken World) is the eighteenth solo studio album by English musician Gary Numan, released on 15 September 2017 by BMG and The End. The album was first announced to be a part of a fan-backed Pledge Music Campaign on 12 November 2015. On 9 November 2018, a followup EP titled The Fallen was released. The EP features similar artwork to Savage, and it was intended to complement the album.

This collection of new material also marks a return to concept albums for Gary Numan (with his last being Replicas and The Pleasure Principle back in 1979). Lyrically, the songs paint a picture of a dystopian world where climate change has destroyed the world and the only remaining humans are adapted survivors

Savage (Songs from a Broken World), 2018. The End of Things, 05:01. And It All Began with You, 06:21.

There’s plenty of the latter on his 21st studio album. Guitars and keyboards crash like falling slabs of granite, percussion pulses throb and synths purr ominously. Numan’s dystopian worldview hasn’t been exactly cheered by climate change or leaving Britain for Los Angeles, only to find a Trumpocalypse. We live in a windswept hell, not.

TITLE added to MP3 cart. Savage (Songs from a Broken World). that album was REALLY good. I'm sure several others are more qualified to speak about his musical style and writing abilities and the such

Gary Numan is doing the latter, confronting the dangerous, divisive times we live in and the long-term effects they might create. On his 21st studio album, Savage (Songs From a Broken World), the 59-year-old synth legend has created a post-apocalyptic world that has become barren as a result of global warming. Savage imagines the planet as a desolate, desert wasteland, he explains in the album’s press materials. It’s about surviving and coexisting in a world decimated by global warming and my reaction to Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Accord. Initially, it may seem odd.
