If you're a fan of Depeche or the Cocteau Twins, get this; you won't be disappointed. A must have for any fan of that mid-90s sound wherein synthpop and darkwave met and stylishly wept together.Highlights: "Intravenous" - Smart, literate, stylish, dark synthpop that's totally unique. A pre-Raphaelite stunner's maiden voice dances lithely between melodies that would sound right at home on "Some Great Reward.""Birds of Passage" - The first of two danceable tracks on the album (the other being "Continuum" which will slowly grow on you, trust me) and the obvious single. Check out the video for the band looking as serious as a migrant family out of the Old Norse Sagas. "World Without End" - "mythical, like a dream" (how could I state it better?)"Oyster" - fairytale female vocals pace deftly between lachrymose, aquatic melodies that conjure a Teutonic Liz Fraser transported to a time before time began. "Picnic on the Moon" - This is the track we always secretly wanted to hear from Black Tape for a Blue Girl, before Sam Rosenthal ruined it with some baying male voice that made us sorry we'd ever heard a Christian Death tune. This track is an excellent example of the silver beauty of which a genre as grey as darkwave is sometimes capable.

Tracking down Geir Jenssens’s earlier work, I ran into this release from "Bel Canto", the band he was part of two decades ago. What a surprise! So recognisable "Biosphere" soundlayers carry the heavenly voice of "Anneli Drecker", mesmerizing you with her theatrical songs, clearly resembling the ethereal work of "Cocteau Twins". If you are in for a "Microgravity meets Victorialand" you will have an awfully pleasant trip! Bel viaggio!

Definitely true, thanks for the tip, I never would have found Biosphere

"Microgravity meets Victorialand"Wow, true. Never saw it like that, but I think that's really dead on.
