The Kinks Greatest Hits! was the first compilation album released in the US by British rock group The Kinks in 1966. The album consists of some of the most popular singles and songs released by the Kinks since 1964. It is the only Kinks album to reach the US top 10 peaking at Stereo Pressing: All tracks are electronically processed Stereo with added reverb. The 1965 single "See My Friends" was not included on the album as, despite reaching on the UK charts, it only made in the US.

That old PRT Kinks greatest hits CD that I always talk about (with the ugly pink and black cover) sounds almost exactly like the tapes played back straight. Along with The Live Kinks, it was the sole showcase for the band's early work in the United States for those same 20 years, and it did its job well as far as it went, opening with that rock & roll punch in the chest "You Really Got Me" and advancing from there.

The Kinks were the original deceptive rock primitives. Then after a few sticated, -be-smart hits, Ray and the boys proved to the world that they were savvy, sassy and smart. This little collection has the best of the raw and the smooth. You could ask for more, but not at this price. This CD along with vol 1 is a great collection of the Kinks early hits (which to me are the best). And the price is great also. I found both in a used CD store for 1. 9 -thats for both-This is a Canadian release and there is just one mistake.
