The Canadian fanzine CLEM (Contact List Of Electronic Music) was influential in creating a global community for this type of music before digital technology and the internet came into play. This entire album is a treasure that exemplifies Minimal Wave. The fact that it has remained relatively obscure and didn’t get much attention or distribution at the time is incredible. It came out in 1982 on a Canadian label called Manhattan-Formula.

David Bowie's video for the 1980 single "Ashes to Ashes" was the first music video to exceed this sum. Janet Jackson leads with six videos on the list, while Michael Jackson, Britney Spears and Ayumi Hamasaki have five each. Ayumi Hamasaki, T-ara, . P are also the only Asian artists to appear on this list

A bleakly beautiful, uncompromising slab of Southern Gothic Americana. Oft-imitated by hordes of math-rock dullards and never, ever bettered. Heck, even the band didn’t bother following it up, such is its perfection. Will Oldham’s iconoclastic sleeve design is adorned with the message: Meant to be played on vinyl, so fuck Apple Corp.

UK DJ/producer Mark Knight has curated an unranked list of the top tech house tracks of all-time for Billboard Dance. Knight writes, "Created for the club by producers who understand only too well the powerful, all-compassing effect of rhythm, tech house has become a dominant force in modern electronic music. At its best, tech house combines the soul and groove of house with the raw, visceral energy of techno, creating records that in the right hands can deliver the perfect dancefloor experience.

Having made his name in bellowing motorcycle rock and with the brassy pop of the ‘Born In The USA’ album slowly coagulating, in 1982 The Boss took the bold stand of releasing the haunting folk demos of ‘Nebraska’ rather than the full-band version. And, crammed with bleak tales of spree killers and death row inmates, it was perfectly pitched: a masterpiece of the murderously morose. 46 Turn On The Bright Lights (2002)

The album which introduced the world to the shamanic genius of Doors frontman Jim Morrison and which was probably the best record they made. Their psychedelic sound, rocking tracks and Morrison's poetic lyrics set them out from the crowd, and nobody could argue with songs as good as Break On Through (To The Other Side), Light My Fire and the epic album closer The End, which was later to be used to mesmerising effect in Apocalypse Now. Key Track: Light My Fire. Nevertheless, things came together - literally - for both principle songwriters, while George Harrison contributed two of his best-ever songs in the shape of Something and Here Comes The Sun. It stands, against all the odds, as a brilliantly cohesive piece of work. Key Track: Come Together.

This Cassette is by far the Greatest Hardcore Mixtape in history. Anyone who has a clue would agree with me. It was recorded in Compton, California. The track selection was WAY ahead of its time.Along with Mark's scratching skills and perfect mixing, it remains a landmark for Mr. Newlands as a DJ and the never forgotten Bloody Fist label.
