4 Carol Williams version. While Winding's brassy performances feature top jazz players, notably Kenny Burrell on guitar, the arrangements are in so-called "surf music" style. After Winding's recording became popular, United Artists added to the soundtrack cover a starburst stating "INCLUDED IN THIS ALBUM THE HIT SONG "MORE". A 1976 cover by Carol Williams on the Salsoul label was popular when disco was breaking into the mainstream and is seen as an early disco classic.

Carol Williams is one of the first ladies of disco. The first female artist signed to Salsoul Records, her 1976 album ’Lectric Lady on the label was the first of any solo act, her single ‘More’ was one of the genre’s first ever 12 s. Her second album, 1979’s ‘Reflections Of Carol Williams’, saw her part company with Salsoul and assume full creative control for the first time in her career.

Carol Williams only released two albums: Lectric Lady her now classic Salsoul album in 1976 with the alleged first ever 12 single More and sampled Love Is You and Reflections of Carol, yet she remains performing to this day and put out a string of boogie oriented singles in the 80’s. I’m happy to report that Reflections is a delight: full of strings, catchy, funky dance tunes that appeal to the romantic in me.

Same version on both sides.

According to the definitive book 'The Disco Files 1973-78' by the well-regarded journalist and dance-music historian Vince Aletti, this is in fact a promotional pressing. In his book (and many others) 'Ten Percent' by Double Exposure is described as the first commercial 12" release on Salsoul. 'Ten Percent' was released several months later, and furthermore, this release has catalogue number 12D-2006 where 'Ten Percent' has 12D-2008.
