Alex Mendham and His Orchestra are a British dance band, led by Alex Mendham, that performs and records music from the 1920s and 1930s. They perform concerts internationally. The orchestra held a long standing residency at the Savoy Hotel in London. Their debut album, Whistling in the Dark, was released in January 2013, followed by a second album, Jazznocracy, in December 2015. In 2017 they released On with the Show, their third studio album.

True Romance is Golden Silvers Debut Album Released by XL recordings in April 2009 on CD, download and 12″ vinyl. It earned a collective score of 71 out of 100 from Metacritic. Dave Simpson of The Guardian said that the album contains a "combination of masterful songwriting and lyrics that introduce dark edges" to a "more timeless than retro" sound.

The unfamilar material is what attracted me. A few songs are penned by Riddle himself. The general feel throughout is upbeat. As is virtually always the case with Nelson Riddle, this CD shines with his artistry and his wonderful swinging orchestra. Included are some songs I had not heard by Riddle. A nicely rounded selection of same, a few with latin & bossa nova flavor, several pop hits (My Sweet Lord, Close To You, Just a Little Lovin', My One and Only Love, When The World Was Young, among others). Then there is a smattering of Riddle-composed instrumentals and samples of compositions by his German big band friends: Claus Ogerman, Horst Jankowski, and F. Grothe, all played by the Riddle orchestra
