Wagner-LP shows minor dirt bottom-front and a small wet-patch bottom left - inner-surface and booklet are perfect! Prokofiev cover only has small wet-patch bottom left (same point as other record) - beside this cover is clean and close to mint, also booklet and inner-surface. LP inner-sleeve, inlay LP Innenhülle /Einlage. comes still in original eves which shows a bit ageing.

Narrative Theatrical Warm. Prokofiev: Romeo and Juliet; Lieutenant Kijé Suite. Although you couldn't tell it from the cover - a black and white photograph of the conductor inexplicably tinted a pale blue-green - these performances of Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kijé Suite and excerpts from his Romeo and Juliet ballet with Erich Leinsdorf leading the Boston Symphony Orchestra do not date from the antediluvian period. They were, in fact, recorded in 1967 and 1968 during the heyday of two-channel stereo and full-spectrum color. What purpose might be served in making the performances look older than they are is questionable - surely RCA's rich, full sound would.

Erich Leinsdorf Conducts Prokofiev. While many of the recordings Erich Leinsdorf made with the Boston Symphony are rather forgetable, he did display a special affinity for Prokofiev, and there were a number of LPs which bore the inscription "Prokofieff Series". These can be recommended almost with hesitation for the excellent Concerti (5 for Piano, 2 for Violin). The Romeo and Juliet excepts make one wish that the entire ballet had been recorded (I must admit, however, for excepts of this ballet, Charles Munch with the same orchestra had done it a bit better several years perviously Prokofieff; 12 Scenes from the Romeo and Juliet Ballet Suite, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Charles Munch, Conductor ).
