Prince is the self-titled second studio album by American recording artist Prince. It was released on October 19, 1979 by Warner Bros. The album was written, arranged, composed, produced and performed entirely by Prince. Prince peaked at 22 on the US Billboard 200 and 3 on the US Billboard Top R&B Albums. Prince engaged in his first tour in the USA to support the album on the Prince Tour in November and December 1979, and February 1980, usually playing every song from the album. The Three Princes was a name given to Princes Boun Oum, Souvanna Phouma and Souphanouvong who represented respectively the royalist, neutralist and leftist factions in the Kingdom of Laos in the post-WWII period. The trio were named by King Savang Vatthana to form a coalition government following the independence of Laos. The Three Princes represented three different political views held during the Laotian Civil War.
