Salt Song is an album by jazz saxophonist Stanley Turrentine recorded for the CTI Note label featuring performances by Turrentine with an orchestra arranged by Eumir Deodato. The CD rerelease added another track

Stanley Turrentine's stint with Creed Taylor's CTI label may not have produced any out-and-out classics on the level of the very best LPs by Freddie Hubbard, Hubert Laws, or George Benson, but the bluesy tenorist's output was consistently strong and worthwhile for all but the most stridently anti-fusion listeners.

Salt Song ‎(LP, Album). Of all the seventies jazz/funk artistes Turrentine is definitely the most hit and miss. Some great tracks surrounded by a lot off dross. This album is however one of his best. Gibraltar is a superb example of laid back jazz/funk. Storm and Salt song are also strong tracks. Reply Notify me Helpful. Great music that takes you for a ride.

Salt Song Stanley Turrentine. This album has an average beat per minute of 111 BPM (slowest/fastest tempos: 76/147 BPM).

Stanley Turrentine: Salt Song by Dan Bilawsky, published on May 6, 2011. Stanley Turrentine's Sugar (CTI, 1970) has always stood out as the defining album in the tenor saxophonist's post-Blue Note discography, but that recording only marked the beginning of his beautiful relationship with Creed Taylor's CTI imprint. Turrentine's time with the label spanned the first half of the '70s and produced a few other winning albums that draped his thick, soulful sound in more modern aural fabrics of the times.

Salt Song is a very rare album by the late Jazz master and saxophonist, and it was first produced in 1972. This is when Stanley Turrentine was at the top of his game and was a jazz staple on most jazz radio stations across the nation. If you have never listened to Stanley Turrentine, then this would be an excellent place to start. One person found this helpful. I heard this album at a customers home and just had to have it. I love it. The music is wonderful, the quality is just as good. The CD rerelease added another track. Studio album by. Stanley Turrentine.
