VII is the seventh studio album by American alternative country band Blitzen Trapper. Described on the band's official site as "somewhat experimental. a futuristic hybrid", and by lead singer and songwriter Eric Earley as "hillbilly gangster", VII was the first record Blitzen Trapper released with their new labels, Vagrant (US) and Lojinx (UK). The song "Thirsty Man" was released as the album's only single, hitting on the Adult Alternative Songs Billboard chart.

Blitzen Trapper is a Portland, Oregon-based experimental country/folk/rock band associated with Sub Pop Records, Vagrant Records and Lojinx. Formed in 2000, the band currently operates as a quintet, with Eric Earley (als/keyboard), Erik Menteer (guitar/keyboard), Brian Adrian Koch (ca), Michael Van Pelt (bass), and Marty Marquis (als/melodica). Blitzen Trapper self-released its first three albums.

Indie rock veterans Blitzen Trapper's seventh full-length VII recalls their innovative work from albums like Wild Mountain Nation and Furr. However, none of the songs are developed into anything more than ear-pricking novelty. Blitzen Trapper is having a pretty good year. as a homage to Wendy Carlos’ 1968 experiment Switched-On Bach.
