Greatest Hits is a compilation album by American recording artist Dan Fogelberg. It included two previously unreleased tracks, "Missing You" and "Make Love Stay", both of which were released as singles and peaked at chart positions and on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, respectively. Both of the new songs made the Top 10 on the adult contemporary chart, with "Missing You" rising to and "Make Love Stay" becoming the singer's third on the AC chart. Daniel Grayling Fogelberg (August 13, 1951 – December 16, 2007) was an American musician, songwriter, composer, and t. He is known for his 1980s songs, including "Longer" (1979), "Leader of the Band" (1981), and "Same Old Lang Syne" (1981). Dan Fogelberg was born in Peoria, Illinois.

The album contains covers of the performer’s biggest hits, including his 1975 breakthrough, Part of the Plan, performed here by the Eagles. The collection also includes Fogelberg’s Top 10 singles: Longer (performed here as a duet by Amy Grant and Vince Gill), Hard to Say (Scaggs), Same Old Lang Syne (Train) and Leader of the Band (Zac Brown). Fogelberg’s 1974 breakthrough album, Souvenirs, was produced by Joe Walsh.
