The King of Limbs is the eighth studio album by the English rock band Radiohead. It was self-released on 18 February 2011 as a download, followed by CD and 12" vinyl versions on 28 March through XL Recordings in the UK, TBD Records in the US, and Hostess Entertainment in Japan. Following the protracted recording and more conventional instrumentation of In Rainbows (2007), Radiohead and their longtime producer Nigel Godrich developed The King of Limbs by sampling and looping.

Авторы текста и музыки. Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Philip Selway, Ed O’Brien.

Radiohead's latest album is their shortest to date, offering eight new tracks that feel like small but natural evolutions of previously explored directions. Containing a slight eight tracks across 37 minutes, The King of Limbs is Radiohead's first album to clock in under the 40-minute mark, falling into that limbo between a modern full-length and an EP. What's more, it feels like it stops short intentionally, almost confrontationally, as if Radiohead are trying to ask a new kind of question about their music. None of us want to get into that creative hoo-ha of a long-play record again," Thom Yorke told The Believer in August 2009. It's just become a real drag.

Released February 18, 2011. The King of Limbs Tracklist. The eighth studio album from rock’s most ambitious and confounding band has a misleading restraint: lush electronics, thickets of digitally tweaked percussion and cryptic lyrics, sung in a prayerlike daze. At 38 minutes, it sounds unfinished and quietly perverse, even more anti-rock than Kid A – at first. Repeated immersion, though, reveals a seductive concision and insistent undertow: the space-alien-The Beach Boys effect of Bloom, the dark, muted-treble blues of the guitars in Little By Little the nimble charge of Separator.

Radiohead's eighth album The King of Limbs is a knocker with power, force, and a soul to reckon with, the only inhibition the album may experience is its length-challenged state. But this may also be a strength. The King Of Limbs contains moments of real beauty, it just needs to be given the time and space to really sink in. the last four tracks inThe King Of Limbs contains moments of real beauty, it just needs to be given the time and space to really sink in. the last four tracks in particular show a band evolving in a very. gentle, natural way, and they're some of the finest songs they've ever produced. the first four tracks are more frantic, but no less brilliant, particularly the busy 'morning mr magpie' and ethereal 'bloom'

It's hard to think of an album that sparked more internet discussion in such a short space of time as Radiohead's The King of Limbs did last Friday. A few consider it awfully doomy," noted the Los Angeles Times, highlighting the hitherto-unheard subsection of Radiohead's fanbase apparently distraught the band had chosen to abandon their trademark boozy, good-time boogie sound. All that virtual ink spilt and what did we learn about The King of Limbs? Largely that it lends itself less well to the kind of snap judgements Radiohead's current -YOU modus operandi forces critics to make than its predecessor.
