He's "playing like tomorrow may never happen". The Sheffield musician’s first record since 2015’s acclaimed ‘Hollow Meadows’ is out on June 7, and is his first for label BMG. It’s also Hawley’s first album to not be named after a landmark, phrase, or figure from his home city. I really wanted to challenge myself to try to keep things relatively up-tempo and keep the songs to about three minutes long, Hawley said of the new album.

Richard Hawley is preparing to grab 2019 by the scruff of the neck with the release of his eighth studio album Further. On top of that, Hawley has revealed plans to debut a musical based on a collection of his songs that opens in his hometown of Sheffield. Off My Mind" is Hawley's first new music since last year's soundtrack for comedy/drama Funny Cow. Hawley's upcoming album is co-produced by Colin Elliot and Shez Sheridan, and as Clash notes, it's the first album to not be named after a Sheffield location or landmark.
