Description

Midnight, Not a sound from the pavement Has the moon lost her memory? She is smiling alone

One of Fuel's new songs from Angels and Devils.

Текст песни Fuel – "Leave The Memories Alone".

Screen Memories is the fourth studio album by American musician John Maus, released on October 27, 2017. The album was his first set of newly-recorded music since We Must Become the Pitiless Censors of Ourselves (2011). Recorded in two years at his Austin, Minnesota home, most of the its subject matter concerns apocalyptic themes inspired by the newsfeed of world events he garnered while making the LP. Some of its song structures and melodies were created with the aid of an artificial neural network.

In my mind, in my side I feel lonely this time Come tonight, save my life I look brave, I’m so fake And the time will collide Move my hand, falling sand. Let the words get it out like a waterfall Free this bond, I’ll be able to restart, come on! Blow this fog, blow this curse, away from me!

Another song I was really looking forward to on the album is Wake Up Alone with Jhené Aiko. Her soft and delicate voice plays elegantly with the beat, and even the drop isn’t all that bad. But it suffers many of the same problems as Don’t Say, with too much space in the drop and far too much reverb. That seems to be the theme of Memories thus far. And while we might have hoped for a twinge of folk or country like Avicii was able to produce on True or Stories, there’s really none of that. Last Day Alive also suffers from similar problems to Young, posing as some pseudo-intellectual revelation when it’s just indicative of teenage angst and worries – something that’s been done a million times before.

Notes

Printed on the back of the sleeve:

DAVE BOIRE (Pronounced Boy'er) was born in Northern Alberta and was raised on a farm just outside of Vermillion in the North peace River country. In a boyhood accident at the age of nine, Dave was blinded which made it necessary for him to find a new means of communication with the world around him. On his thirteenth birthday he received a guitar and, with the help of his dad, D.W. Boire, he began the tedious task of learning chords and scales.
When Dave was fifteen, he attended the Jericho Hill School for the Blind in Vancouver where he received further help in mastering the guitar. It wasn't long before he was making public appearances and, within two years, he was also singing to his own guitar accompaniment. He participated in many talent contests which he invariably won. Back in the Peace River country, Dave was given his own fifteen minute show on CKYL which gave him a new outlet for his playing, singing and original compositions.
Five of his songs on this record are Dave's own and it is his hope that you will enjoy them as well as some of the standard selections. We think they're great!
Featured with Dave on this album is the talented young lady whose photo appears on the front. A very versatile artist is DONNA ADAMS who not only wrote two of the songs (Just Keep on A-Talkin' and Diesel Rig) but sings and plays guitar and banjo as well. It is our prediction that she will go a long way in the entertainment world as a writer and performer.
The group accompanying Dave and Donna is led by LARRY LAMOTHE and they call themselves the LONESOME TRAVELERS. They're a great bunch of guys and unexcelled musicians consisting of CURLY WEST, steel guitar and fiddle; RAY McAULEY, lead guitar; MIKE BENNY, bass and MIKE DERRELL, drums. The banjo is played by Donna Adams and the fabulous acoustic guitar solos are by Dave Boire himself.
