Slaughter & the Dogs are an English punk rock band that formed in the mid 1970s in Wythenshawe, Manchester, England. They were one of the first UK punk bands to sign with a major label, Decca Records. The name "Slaughter & the Dogs" was created by singer Wayne Barrett in 1975 by combining the names of Diamond Dogs and Slaughter on 10th Avenue, two of his favourite albums. They were one of the first punk rock bands in North West England. They supported the Sex Pistols at their now-legendary gig at Manchester Lesser Free Trade Hall on 20 July 1976.
Do It Dog Style is the first album by Manchester punk band Slaughter & The Dogs. All tracks composed by Mick Rossi and Wayne Barrett; except where indicated. Side A. "Where Have All the Boot Boys Gone". Victims of the Vampire" (Rossi, Barrett, Bates). I'm Waiting for the Man" (Lou Reed). Quick Joey Small" (Arthur Resnick, Joey Levine).
Slaughter & The Dogs. Stiff Little Fingers.
The Punk Singles Collection. Especially when there are truly great album tracks that are nowhere to be found on the disc. Gene October was a worthy songwriter, and produced too many memorable punk tunes to be forgotten, or lumped in with hoards of cut-rate UK punk bands. Chelsea were better than most. But NONE of them have THREE top-rank albums, perhaps one or two, but not three.
