1983 Chapman worked with Mike Oldfield on the album Crises. The single Shadow on the Wall became a hit in the German-speaking world and reached 3rd place in Germany, among other things, place 1 in Austria, 4 in Switzerland and 10 in the Netherlands. 1986 was characterized by a collaboration with the band Box of Frogs on their album Strange Land. Roger Chapman is still active as a singer. His backing band changes occasionally. After a song by Mickey Jupp ( from the album " Juppanese " from 1978 ) was called a formation shortlist. In 1979 Chapman began a solo career and recorded his first solo album Chappo. His backing band became known as The Shortlist at this time and he toured Europe extensively. Mike Oldfield's song "Shadow on the Wall" from the album Crises (1983) featured Chapman on vocals and became a big hit. He appeared as a guest artist on the second Box of Frogs album Strange Land (1986) singing lead vocals on two songs. Chapman went on to record Walking the Cat (1989) and Hybrid and Low Down (1990).
