The pure voices of Anna Maria Friman, Linn Andrea Fuglseth, and Torunn Østrem Ossum combine to make Trio Mediaeval a sensation among early music fans. Trio Mediæval is a vocal trio established in Oslo in 1997, recording albums for the ECM label, and touring frequently in Europe and the United States. The trio was put together mainly to sing medieval polyphonic works, but has since early in their career expanded their repertoire to also include contemporary compositions, such as those of Gavin Bryars and Ivan Moody. Moody wrote the title track on their debut album "Words of the Angel" (2001), which reached the top ten of the Billboard Classical list  . 2004: Soir, dit Elle.

I'm not talking about natural expectations, but of the fact that SOIR, DIT-ELLE seems to have been structured after WORDS. Unlike WORDS, however, SOIR dwells greatly on modern repertoire. All contemporary pieces in SOIR seem to have been composed with skill and interpreted to perfection; still, it does not seem to me to be as engaging as WORDS.
