Vangelis had used vocals on albums before, including on 1975’s Heaven and Hell, which featured his first collaboration with Jon Anderson of Yes, the group that the Greek artist had nearly joined the year before. In early 1980, during a period in which the latter singer was away from his main band, they released the Short Stories album and had a substantial hit single with ‘I Hear You Now,’ and worked together once again on the Vangelis album we reDiscover today, See You Later. Anderson featured on both of the closing pieces for See You Later, ‘Suffocation’ and the title track. The album never came out in the US at all, and is generally one of the rarest in the artist’s canon.

See You Later Tracklist.

See You Later" is in a completely different vein from vastly better-known Vangelis works such as "Opera Sauvage" or "Chariots of Fire". Perhaps only the track "Memories of Green" is widely known, and that mainly because of its inclusion in the "Blade Runner" soundtrack. See You Later" was released when synth-pop was freshly emerging as a respectable genre; the album reflects some of those contemporaneous influences.

See You Later is a album by the Greek electronic composer Vangelis, released in 1980. It breaks quite violently with the style he had employed in the late 1970s and later, relying much more on vocals and being more experimental and returning (in many respects) to his early 1970s work like Earth or 666. It was never released in the United States, and is one of his rarest albums.

Blade Runner is the soundtrack album for the 1982 film Blade Runner, composed by Greek electronic music composer Vangelis.
