Suicide Silence is the fifth studio album by metal band Suicide Silence, released on February 24, 2017 by Nuclear Blast. The album is a notable departure from their signature deathcore musical style, pursuing a more 1990s influenced nu metal sound. The album shows a huge shift from the band's deathcore style that they're known for to a nu metal style reminiscent of bands such as Korn, Deftones and Coal Chamber.

Suicide Silence is an American deathcore band from Riverside, California. The band formed in 2002, and has released five full-length studio albums, one EP, and eleven music videos. They have received a fair amount of praise, being awarded the Revolver Golden God award for "Best New Talent" in 2009. The group currently consists of guitarists Chris Garza and Mark Heylmun, drummer Alex Lopez, bassist Dan Kenny, and vocalist Hernan "Eddie" Hermida.

Silence is the second song from Suicide Silence’s self titled fifth full-length studio album, released on 24th February 2017. The primary influences are various 90s alt, nu, and death metal artists - Korn, Cannibal Corpse, Deftones, and Mike Patton being the most obvious - but on tracks like Listen and Run, they all get blended together in sometimes bizarre and always interesting ways. Suicide Silence have never sounded this genuinely deranged.

For album Suicide Silence recorded to analogue tape, which is not an inherently bad thing I should remind you – it can yield quite the opposite results, as Ceres previous album proved. It is the worst Suicide Silence album to date, and will easily be one of 2017’s biggest disappointments. Well, that is unless Ocean Sleeper releases something else this year. Let us all hope not.
