I'm surprised that Orbital wasn't on here since they did the opening theme song to this movie. Orbital is one of the best electronic groups of the late 80's/90's and I recommend looking at them for similar music. One person found this helpful. This soundtrack is absolutely beautiful. The music is uplifting and inspiring. The perfect "mood music" for working, studying, or reading - it's also wonderful as a musical backdrop for prayer time or entertaining.

Glad I didn't read the comments before buying or I probably would have passed on it. My orange copy of this is absolute perfection. "Deep Blue Day" might be the best sounding cut. Or the Elastica one maybe. I'm sorry to those who got flawed ones-- keep trying!

Choose your future. Choose life. Elected this soundtrack over T2's, and Boyle's directive style definitely shows through the somewhat eclectic tracklist. Represents the film well it seems.
Yellow Judge Yellow Judge
Musically, I consider this one of the quintessential 90s albums (despite that fact that a good chunk of the music originates from the previous decades). Visually, these orange pressing looks amazing. Fidelity wise...soooooooooo disappointed. Nonfill everywhere. On mine, it's especially noticeable on Brian Eno's track...perhaps the worse track to get it on. I'm getting so tired of buying brand new records that I couldn't honestly grade higher than VG.
Onnell Onnell
You're so right! Finally listened to this LP today, halfway through "Deep Blue Day" I checked if my cartridge was okay because the noises were really ugly. It's a shame that this happens frequently, just like with the "Disintegration" reissue from 2010.
Thohelm Thohelm
Hopefully Vol.2 will also be reissued on vinyl. The green volume I mean, not the sequel film.
Wrathshaper Wrathshaper
Whats the difference to the numbered version? Can someone explain? w
Blackbeard Blackbeard
this version is not numbered and the other is. lol
elektron elektron
Whats so special about that LP? Limited to some copies?

I got distortion and crackle on Perfect Day... the rest sounds pretty good though. Such a great mix and some nice original songs too. It's like a mid-90s time-capsule. Love it.

Not much to say about this release other than its pretty great. Sadly it suffers from one sin of the record industry. Having 2 records in a standard jacket sleeve instead of a gatefold. It is nice that the inner sleeves are at least lined with plastic however, saving you from using your own should you wish to. With such low surface noise I dare say its the most crackle free record I have and with a pretty good sound mastering its all you could ask for of the music.Equipment used:Rega RP1 with Rega Carbon cartridgeCyrus 2 AmplifierSystem Fidelity SF-3050 tower speakersCustom made HQ speaker cables

Nice, I pretty much do the same as you! But I do it for all my albums to prevent ringwear, plus it makes it easier to take out the record, dont have to remove the cover from the plastic sleeve. Unless its 2 records.
Nalmezar Nalmezar
This is a problem with many newer vinyl releases! You buy a $45 to $65 album and it is crammed into a single sleeve. The album is brand new and it’s already showing ringwear on the cover. Same issue with the 2018 RSD copy of Phish- Billy Breathes. It’s extremely tight and you can see the records curve on the top and bottom of the cover already. I have two copies and both have exactly the same problem! Either use a gatefold cover or a wider single cover. It’s about saving money and more profit for the company.I keep all my albums in Japanese resealable sleeves, primarily to keep out dust, so with these type albums I generally put one record in the cover and the other behind the album in a MoFi inner. This blocks the albums song listing, but keeps the cover from getting split or worn. I also don’t put these in with the rest of my collection that’s not to tight, but is for these type of albums so I keep them in a looser section of my storage shelving, where my box sets are located.
Ubrise Ubrise
Again damned huge non-fill on end of side A. Feeling really disappointed with today's pressing LPs.

That’s very true! I’m extremely picky about what companies press the vinyl I purchase. I generally try to get the Japanese pressings when buying older used LPs. The Japanese people take really good care of their things we take for granted! If it’s not available or newer, I buy Mobile Fidelity, not perfect either, or Analogue Productions. I stay away from Matador and Mexican Summer as a copy of Interpol-El Pintor red vinyl had a chip of excess vinyl lodged in the groove, and it ripped my stylus out of my $1,200 Clearaudio cartridge. I was pissed.I think because vinyl has become the new “it thing” for some people who just started collecting vinyl, new records are pressed quickly and not inspected as well as some companies. It’s about making money while they can and while vinyl is a hot market now. Some of the best new vinyl albums I’ve purchased are the 45rpm remastered Peter Gabriel albums! They are well made and nice sounding albums. I haven’t purchased to many new albums as they are , as you mentioned “disappointing” in their production.

I bought orange and black version. This is exactly the same perfect sound !! But the orange version is more beautifull.

Great music and a much awaited repress. Not the best pressing, sounds a little narrow and I hear some distortion in bits like Deep Blue Day. I'm playing on a Thorens 166 with a AT440mla. Nevertheless, very pleased to own this soundtrack at long last. The orange looks pretty slick.

Hi, just got mine, am in work so haven't played it yet, was hoping it would be quiet and not compressed. Whats the dynamics like on Born Slippy?

Just received mine, after having preordered orange vinyls after some time ago. What is the difference between the two listed orange vinyls editions? One says UK, the other EU. But honestly, i cannot tell the difference

Amazing- has the big songs from the key moments in the movie: Lust for Life, Atomic, Perfect Day.The rest is more ambient, like the Eno song, which is great, too, but a different style.Really cool with the two orange LPs! I don't know why I love color vinyl so much, but I just do.

I got my copy today. It looks like it's a bit, how would i say, marbled? There's some foggy "marbeling" going on both records... And yes, my copy is an official pressing.
Thofyn Thofyn
Looks flat orange at first but, yes, if you hold it up to a light source, it's absolutely marbled. Not sure if that was intentional or not.

Apparently, this release is randomly on black or orange vinyl. Anyone has intel about this?
Silver Globol Silver Globol
No, it's not random, you can choose either black or orange.
Yggfyn Yggfyn
This version is definitely orange vinyl. But be sure to check the hype sticker!
Modar Modar
Well, I got mine and for me both records are orange.
Steelrunner Steelrunner
Did talk with Warner. Record dealer can not choose : they order this new relaease and it is randomly delivered on black or orange version.
Malahelm Malahelm
the first run will be in orange. once they are sold out, there will be a second run in black.
Sennnel Sennnel
Mine has a sticker saying it's orange, haven't opened it yet but will soon !!!

I have the multi-colored vinyl with the pixelated shoulder too. It sounds very good if it's a counterfeit. Plus the runout matrix is correct. Odd bird. Well worth $20, though.

On my copy, disc 1 is a blueish grey marble and disc 2 is orange. Most likely a bootleg, but it sounds good.

A question regarding a release I've found recently;2 x LP "Trainspotting" on marbled vinyl. One is a grey/white/black combination and the other is plum purple/white/black. The runout etching, UPC and catalogue numbers matches the Limited Edition listed above but since it doesn't mention the marbled aspect, I'm very curious. The outer sleeve and labels are excellent in terms of print quality and upon playback, it sounded fantastic.Any ideas?

Love it!

Likely an Unofficial Boot - you can tell from the shoddy facsimile quality of the images rather than referring to original print files or negatives, and more notably, the scanned disc-tray ring wear on the back cover and the block-eraser/large pixel contour on Ewan McGregor's right shoulder on the front - probably a poor erase job on the scan they took from their available copy of the CD cover on which they had written their name back in the 90s. Given that, I wouldn't be surprised if this was mastered from the CD as well.     As most of these songs are available on vinyl elsewhere, and only a few are exclusive to the Trainspotting soundtrack, I would advise you not to fall victim to this and pass it up. If you really need to own this on vinyl, hold out for an original pressing, or better yet, an official repress!

Uhhh... My copy has disc one on black vinyl and disc two on orange. Random. Gotta be a bootleg, right?

I just bought this today from my local record store. I've talked with the owner about bootlegs before, so I feel certain that if he thought it was, he would have told me. That said, I am a little suspicious, given that this highly sought after album has seemingly been reissued with no advertising at all. Mine is not orange vinyl, however, but regular black (wasn't sure if I should make a new entry or not.) It sounds great, and although I do think that one record does feel slightly thinner than the other, I'm not positive that it's a significant difference (does it say it's supposed to be 180 gram?)Anyway, I'm happy with it, but now I am really curious.
Otiel Otiel
Listened last night and it sounds really good. The 1st record seemed heavy like 180 gram, but the 2nd record was much lighter in weight leading me to believe that its not legit, but whatever you won't be disappointed. No MP3 code included either, but again whatever.

What does 'partially unofficial' mean?
Nakora Nakora
That's a great question!
Manris Manris
My copy has some grey shades of ringwear on the back cover, suggesting the cover is a scan of another version.
Nawenadet Nawenadet
Is it official????

A very good sampler of electronic music. As an album, it's nothing to write home about, because it is effectively a compilation. My only gripe is that there are some questionable rock/alternative tracks mixed in with classic EDM. An interesting release because of the unique blend it offers, but ultimately it's nowhere near the breathtaking experience that other [orchestral] film soundtracks are.
Kea Kea
Seminal for all electronic fans !! The movie was amazing and the souns are simply some of the best around. All tracks shinee, but Bedrock's 'FWYDO' was a track that helped 'progressive ' progress into what it is today - BIG ! Eno is also in there with an ambient number, primal Scream with trainspotting, Leftfield (we all know eho they are or should i say were (disbanded) U need this mix if u saw the film, complete the journey, amd enjoy mid ninties rock and electronica, some of the best at that.
