Spirit is the sixth studio album by singer-songwriter Amos Lee. It was released August 16, 2016 on the John Varvatos imprint of Republic Records, Lee's first album on a label other than Blue Note Records. It is also the first album which Lee self-produced. Amos Lee (born Ryan Anthony Massaro, June 20, 1977) is an American singer-songwriter whose musical style encompasses folk, rock and soul. He was born in Philadelphia and graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in English. After working as a schoolteacher and bartender he began to pursue a career in music. Mission Bell is the fourth studio album by American musician Amos Lee, released on January 25, 2011. The album features Willie Nelson, Lucinda Williams, Sam Beam, Priscilla Ahn, Pieta Brown, James Gadson, and Calexico as guests on the album. Joey Burns, of Calexico produced the album. Mission Bell debuted at on the Billboard 200, selling 40,000 copies in its first week, which is the lowest total for a album in the Soundscan era. These sales broke the record set by Cake's Showroom of Compassion when it sold 44,000 two weeks previous.
