Lost Paradise is the debut album of the heavy metal band Paradise Lost. Released in February 1990 by Peaceville Records, it features their early death/doom style. The album was re-issued in 2003 and included three bonus tracks. The tracks "Our Saviour" and "Frozen Illusion" were rerecorded in other Paradise Lost albums Tragic Illusion 25 and Medusa. Lost Paradise, Gothic and Shades Of God established the band as one of Death/Doom's leading forces but by 1993's Icon they were gradually moving away these influences and instead opting for a more melancholy, slightly goth-influenced (though still Metal) mainstream sound, they continued this trend on the extremely popular (albeit controversial) Draconian Times and One Second then losing almost.

Dante wrote the Divine Comedy in the 14th century and Milton wrote Paradise Lost in the 17th century, so both writers witnessed the political and social upheaval of their times, which is expressed in their epics. I do not know if it is possible to say which "epic poem is better" because as you noted, it is a matter of opinion. I find Paradise Lost much grander and more interesting, and a lot less juvenile and petty than Dante. After all, Paradise Lost doesn't feature a fart joke or put Milton's enemies in Hell. However, some of this may be a translation issue, as Paradise Lost was written in English from the start. Overall, I think Dante has a more interesting and colorful version of Hell, while Milton has a better story, better poetry, and more interesting characters. Both have their merits and flaws, but to my mind, you're fine reading a summary of Dante but it's actually worth reading Paradise.
