Description

Neil Young : Peace Trail,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен.

Peace Trail is the 36th studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young, released on December 9, 2016 on Reprise Records. Co-produced by Young and John Hanlon, the album was recorded at record producer Rick Rubin's Shangri-La Studios. Described as a "primarily acoustic" album, Young recorded Peace Trail with drummer Jim Keltner and bass guitarist Paul Bushnell.

He records an album, tours on the new songs, and then, as often as not, moves onto something completely different. Young’s trajectory and stylistic development as an artist has always been very hard to predict. He followed his only No. 1 record, Harvest, with On The Beach, a moody, pre-grunge downer of an album that did nothing to build on its radio-friendly predecessor. Similarly, when Comes A Time and Rust Never Sleeps from the late ‘70s re-established Young as a commercially viable artist, it didn’t last. All of this is a way of saying that Peace Trail is quite different than anything Neil Young has put out in quite some time. It’s not different in the way that Le Noise, Young’s collaboration with Daniel Lanois from 2010 was different. It does not feature another of Young’s sonic reinventions. There’s none of the youthful energy from Promise Of The Real that made Monsanto Years so much fun.

Peace Trail ‎(Cass, Album). Peace Trail is sharp and cutting, often disorienting, putting the message above all else, with the hopes that the younger generation will look with wiser eyes, and not be taken for a ride, have the power to stand against the waves of hate and despair, and do the right thing for the right reason. No, it’s not a comfortable album, it’s certainly not a party album, it’s designed to remind you of what’s happening, that the ever present government eye is watching, and that if we don’t take care of each other no one will. Peace Trail is a true folk record in the spirt of Woody Guthrie, but that was.

Neil Young is a man audibly proud of his work ethic. I can’t stop working, because I like to work when nothing else is going on, he sings at one point during Peace Trail, his 40th studio album (with a further eight live albums, three soundtrack albums, eight archive albums, 11 unreleased albums, and three with Buffalo Springfield). Peace Trail is his second album of 2016, arriving less than six months after the puzzling hour-plus of blatantly overdubbed and Auto-Tuned live recordings, fake adverts and animal noises that was Earth. Over the last five years, he’s positively churned it out: seven new albums, three archival live releases, two books, plus his own portable digital media player and download service.

As a songwriter, Neil Young has always thrived in shaky times. Whether it’s the deflated hippy dreams of his mid-seventies Ditch Trilogy or the road-weary breakup anthems that comprised 1992’s Harvest Moon, Neil’s best work often feels like a gut reaction to turbulence. More than any album since 2006’s Living With War-the Bush-era treatise that called for impeachment and looked to Obama as a beacon of hope-Peace Trail is a product of its time. Its ten sparse protest songs address the dissemination of fake news, the mistreatment of America’s indigenous people, and the water crisis in Flint

Neil Young will release a new album, Peace Trail, December 2nd via Reprise Records. Young wrote and recorded Peace Trail not long after the release of Earth, a massive record featuring songs recorded during his 2015 tour with Promise of the Real and mixed with wildlife sounds. The more conventional Peace Trail was recorded at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-la Studios and is reportedly a primarily acoustic effort, with Jim Keltner on drums and Paul Bushnell on bass. Young co-produced the LP with John Hanlon, who also mixed the record.

Neil Young’s next album, Peace Trail, is set for release Dec. 2 via Reprise Records, on CD, cassette (yes, cassette!) and digitally through Young’s PonoMusic and other digital outlets. According to a press release, As with Earth and The Monsanto Years, Young has a very clearly defined vision and makes plain his global concerns. As ever, this album presents a beautiful and moving song cycle. Neil Young + Promise of the Real will tour Australia and New Zealand in April, Japan in May, and South America in the summer. Neil Young‘s been on a bit of a productive streak in recent years, having released A Letter Home and Storytone in 2014 and The Monsanto Years in 2015. He has another album on the way, titled Peace Trail, which is out December 2 via Reprise. The album was written and recorded after the release of the live set Earth, which came out earlier this year. Young released a video for the track Indian Givers, which you can watch below. The album is described in a press release as primarily acoustic, though it features some vocals with Auto-Tune. Justin Vernon reportedly had nothing to do with this.
