The Early Years is a two-part retrospective album series of Tom Waits songs, consisting of recordings made before Waits's actual debut album Closing Time. Volume One was released in 1991 and Volume Two was released in 1993 on Bizarre/Straight. The recordings were made between July and December 1971. Some of the songs on the album appear on the early albums Waits recorded for Asylum Records. Both volumes were released on vinyl in 2010 by Manifesto Records.

The Early Years, Vol. 1 is an album of early demos recorded by a 21-year-old Tom Waits in 1971, two years before the release of his first album, Closing Time, and issued on the record label owned by his ex-manager. Waits accompanies himself on piano or guitar and sings in an unaffected nasal tenor. One track, "Ice Cream Man," is given a full-band treatment.
The Early Years is an unofficial album written by Tyler Joseph around 2007 when he was still in high school. It has many songs in common with another leaked album No Phun Intended. The only previously unknown songs on the work are track 3 Going Down and the untitled instrumental track, Track 7. The Early Years Q&A.
The Early Years (David Coverdale album). The Early Years is a double CD compilation album released in 2003 by David Coverdale of Deep Purple and Whitesnake, not to be confused with the Whitesnake compilation album The Early Years released in 2004. It contains his first two solo releases, White Snake, and Northwinds, released in 1977 and 1978, respectively. Both albums retain the bonus tracks found on the Spitfire reissues from 2000.
