Maurice Jarre (born in Lyon, France, September 13, 1924, died in Malibu, USA, March 29th, 2009) was a French composer of film scores noted for the scores of many motion pictures, in particular those of David Lean – Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Doctor Zhivago (1965), and A Passage to India (1984). All three of these scores won Academy Awards and are widely considered to be among Jarre's best work.

The great John Williams did contribute a piece to Solo, and it's "The Adventures of Han". Finally, after 41 years, Han Solo got his own theme, and it's as vivacious and bold as the character himself. I wholeheartedly recommend this score. John Williams kicks the album off with one of his best new themes in years, and Powell takes over from there, using it beautifully over the rest of the soundtrack. I've been a longtime fan of his, and was very, very pleased to hear Ron Howard had brought him aboard for this fantastic movie. The one that will be talked about most no doubt is "Reminiscence Therapy," Powell's rip-roaring tribute to the best action cues of Williams' original trilogy score. Hearing "Asteroid Field" in there was about the greatest thing ever, and executed perfectly on film

The upcoming film War Horse is the 28th collaboration between director Steven Spielberg and composer John Williams. The movie is based on a popular children’s novel by author, poet and playwright Michael Morpurgo and tells of a young English boy Albert and his extraordinary friendship with his horse Joey, set in the times of WW I. It is a story of courage, loyalty and friendship told through the eyes of a horse.

Not since the mainland arrival of the Beatles had such an intense level of fanaticism possessed the American people. The film's rousing title sequence is as recognizable - if not more so - than the national anthem, and composer John Williams' Oscar-winning score is a marvel of pulp tension, Holst grandeur, and Wagner-inspired motifs.

Star Wars (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is the soundtrack album to the 1977 film Star Wars, composed and conducted by John Williams and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. Williams' score for Star Wars was recorded over eight sessions at Anvil Studios in Denham, England on March 5, 8–12, 15 and 16, 1977. The score was orchestrated by Williams's frequent associate Herbert W. Spencer, who also later orchestrated the scores for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi
