In Limine is FINISTERRE's undoubtedly most matured and intricate work and combines multiple music genres as classical, jazz, folk, modern electronics and rock. Overall it's a very beautiful and elaborate album involving many different instruments, although it might take a few listens to get into the extensively used sudden shifts between quite different music styles. In Limine is a fantastic album involving multiple styles and instruments and with some more homogenity and coherence it would be a masterpiece. But without any doubts it's a great piece of work, a big effort of the band and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to anyone liking good music no matter which genre and to any open-minded prog fan. For sure it should not be ignored as an essential album in Prog.

Finisterre is the sixth studio album by English alternative dance band Saint Etienne, released on 30 September 2002 by Mantra Records. Following two relatively uniform albums, Good Humor and Sound of Water, Finisterre contains a wide mixture of sounds and styles (as would its successor Tales from Turnpike House)

Finisterre - In Limine (Mellow MMP 291, 1996, CD). by Mike McLatchey, 1997-02-01: Still spacey, ethereal and sublime, Finisterre are one of the most interesting of the new Italian groups, skirting the Marillion school that so many are fond of and embracing that refined subtlety I thought was left being in Italy's 70s (or at least since Ezra Winston's Ancient Afternoons in 1989. Finisterre’s music moves in slow waves, almost ambient at times. After a respectable first album, Finisterre returns with a solid follow-up. All of the musicians are on about the same musical level, and their compositions and arrangements reflect this balance nicely. In this age of one-man-bands, it's nice to hear a strong group effort. At times moody and atmospheric, at times jazzy and heavy, In Limine has lots of diversity.
