This Northwestern Indiana trio return their tempos to the days when bands and fuzzy solo projects like Red House Painters, Idaho, Codeine, and Low found their disparate sounds united as the genre slowcore, an awkward journalist-coined term that was often used simultaneously with sadcore. Vocalist Doyle Martin 's low-mixed, drawn-out vocals sound like a more buried version of Red House Painters ' Mark Kozelek, especially when they branch out into stringy harmonies on songs like "Moon Funeral.
