Description

Vinyl Nathan Van Cleave - Robinson Crusoe On Mars (Vinyl).

The two survivors safely land on Mars and figure out how to breathe, drink, and eat on the inhospitable planet. After some time, Draper crosses paths with a human, Friday, who has recently escaped slavery on an alien planet. As the two find a means of communication, they become friends.

The film was distributed by Paramount Pictures. As the title indicates, it is a science fiction retelling of the classic novel Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe.

The original Martian. Long before Matt Damon’s blockbuster The Martian, there was the survival story of marooned astronaut Christopher Kit Draper. For most of its length Robinson Crusoe on Mars is a one-man show, with Nathan Van Cleave’s orchestral score serving as an additional character, conversing with Kit as he explores the red terrain. Continuing its soundtrack mission, Mondo is now preparing to give this cult classic its first ever vinyl release

Title: Robinson Crusoe on Mars (1964). Director: Nathan Juran. During a flight to Mars in the spaceship Mars Gravity Probe 1, Commander Christopher 'Kit' Draper and Colonel Dan McReady are forced to deviate from an asteroid and they leave their spacecraft in pods. Draper lands on the surface of the Red Planet and survives. He learns how to produce oxygen and while exploring the planet, he finds McReady dead in his crashed pod.

I remember going to the drive-in with my folks and brother to see Robinson Crusoe on Mars. At eight years old I could not get enough of space flight, and RCOM fueled my wish to go the the red planet. My CD came quickly and in perfect condition. The music quality is perfect. 4 people found this helpful.

this is a really beautiful package all around. the gatefold is heavy with really nice graphics that fit the vibe of the classic film perfectly. the heavy 180 vinyl is a really nice translucent blue and red, (one for Earth, one for Mars), with cool picture labels on all four sides. the music is amazing. if you're a fan of the movie then you likely remember how great it is, but removed from the film, this composition is really incredible.. its orchestral, yet Jazzy at times, but really shadowy and pulsing at others.. even a little creepy! but never boring or predictable. at times brooding and heavy, and at others, the struggle and hope can be felt!the pressing quality, (at least my copy) is virtually flawless, and is extremely quiet, with great mastering, (its quite loud and clear within "normal" levels), very nice sound overall, and a real treat to have in the collection!thanks Mondo, this one was a real surprise, and a real treasure~
